Educational skills of nurses - theory and practice

In my Bachelor's thesis I am approaching the theme of "Educational abilities of the nurses - theory and praxis". The target of the work is to approximate the the issue of education, to establish the level of theoretic knowledge of the nurses working in the clinics of the Royal Vinohrady Teaching Hospital, regarding the education of the patients and to try to determine the quality level of the education being performed, based on the interview survey and patients' satisfaction. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part contains an insight into the history of the pedagogy and the development of the education, describes the basic educational terms and the educational determinants to help us to understand the issue. It also approximates the challenging task of the nurses educators, who, in order to provide the educational activity, also have to master the process of education, understand the area being educated and the art of the communication with the patient. The empirical part is focused on a quantitative exploration in the form of a interview survey, which was carried out in the Royal Vinohrady Teaching Hospital.
